TSE, official partner of the “YCC Olympic Ambition” circle
During the French Olympic Week 2022, Jean-François Cutugno, president of the Cannes Yacht Club, announced the creation of the performance circle called “YCC OLYMPIC AMBITION” of which TSE became the official sponsor.
This circle brings together 6 top-level athletes, YCC 470 racers, with an Olympic project. The Cannes Yacht Club and TSE are committed to supporting them as best they can in this quest, placing the collective at the service of the performance of each crew. The aim is for the athletes to focus 100% on their sporting objective with the aim of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, whose sailing events will be held in Marseille.
The team is managed by Stéphane Christidis, former double European champion of 470 and double Olympic selected in 49er and sponsored by Thierry Peponnet, double Olympic medalist in 470.
3 crews were selected as part of the Cercle:
- Aloïse Retornaz and Hyppolite Machetti
- Lucie de Gennes and Matisse Pacaud
- Amélie Flandorffer and Pierre Williot
Support for athletes
Jean-François Cutugno, Stéphane Christidis and Thierry Peponnet, the 3 pillars of this project, position the YCC Olympic Ambition as a complement to the support provided by the French team and the French Sailing Federation.
According to Stéphane Christidis, “The idea is to help the athletes even more. They are already very well supported with the French team, but not all are 100% supported. There are very talented young people, but who still lack a bit of experience at the highest level and whom we want to support.”
The objective is therefore that these crews can benefit from a structure identical to that which they benefit from with the French team (medical follow-up, osteopath, dietitian, etc.) when they are not doing an internship at the Marseille hub.
Shared values
TSE shares many common values with YCC athletes such as surpassing oneself, team spirit and determination. TSE is proud to support these crews throughout their journey towards new achievements.
See you at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games!
