TSE signs the charter of the National Sheep Federation

Energy companies are committed to the development of virtuous agrivoltaic sheep projects

While the implementing texts of the AER law concerning the supervision of agrivoltaic projects is slow to come out, energy companies are committed to respecting the charter and technical recommendations for the design and development of virtuous agrivoltaic sheep projects written by the National Sheep Federation.

In the absence, at the time, of a regulatory framework and faced with the uncontrolled development of solar power plant projects on agricultural land, the FNO decided in 2020 to draft A charter specifying its vision for the development of projects combining solar energy production on the ground and sheep farming. This document, the result of numerous exchanges and feedback with stakeholders, was shared as much as possible in the field and has evolved to adapt to the new data available. It is now completed by technical recommendations for the design of power plants, which are also the result of numerous exchanges and feedback from sheep farmers.

The objective for the FNO through these documents is to help as much as possible project developers, farmers, advice organizations and decision-makers to design and assess agrivoltaic projects that ensure the sustainability of the sheep activity for the production of lamb and/or sheep's milk.

Ahead of the Tech Ovin exhibition to be held on September 6 and 7 in Bellac (87), the FNO has decided to encourage as many project developers as possible to commit to respecting its charter and recommendations for all sheep agrivoltaic projects and wishes to make this known, knowing that the list of signatory companies will be expanded.

Companies committed to respecting the FNO charter and technical recommendations for all their new projects, as of July 19, 2023:
